About company and project impact


Company with more than thirty five years of experience in offering complete turnkey solutions and equipment for the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and food industries saw the opportunity for improving production process in KET4CleanProduction pilot project.


Main impact of the project was gaining new insights on the influence of various surface passivation procedures on surface chemical composition, morphology and most importantly corrosion resistance of stainless steels used by their company. The systematic studies conducted during the project are valuable for optimizing company's in-house passivation process ,as well as, for possible use of novel environment friendly approaches based on gaseous plasma treatment, which are intriguing and could be used in the near future. New insights gained during the project give company insight in implementation of less harmful chemicals for chemical passivation of the surface with including shorten treatment time which reduces the manufacturing costs and reduce carbon footprint of end product

Outcome


Through project's collaboration company was able to implement less harmful chemicals for chemical passivation of the surface with included shorten treatment time which reduces the manufacturing costs and reduce carbon footprint of end product.


Using the knowledge of selected experts in the field of surface treatments and analysis they relatively quickly achieved better quality of their final products. The cooperation with selected institutes in the frame of KET4CleanProduction pilot project represents an excellent foundation for further collaboration in the already commenced development of less aggressive techniques - such as plasma passivation.
