Linking KET Technology Centres with SMEs across Europe for a cleaner, greener & more efficient production KET4CP Newsletter #2, January 2019
KET4CleanProduction Newsletter
Welcome to the second KET4CleanProduction Newsletter, a quarterly edition focusing on Key Enabling Technologies (KETs) and cooperation opportunities among Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) and KET Technology Centres. The EU-funded project KET4CleanProduction aims to help SMEs tackle their clean production challenges while being innovative, competitive and sustainable. By encouraging the use of advanced manufacturing technologies and related key enabling technologies, the production processes are expected to upgrade towards a more energy and material efficient state.
5 SMEs receive Micro Grants from KET4CleanProduction to kick start their innovative project
In 2018 we have set the wheels in motion. In the rise of 2019 we are happy to announce that five manufacturing SMEs from Austria, Denmark, Hungary and Slovenia have already started cooperating with KET Technology Centres (KET-TCs) in order to benefit from Key Enabling Technologies, thanks to their succesful application for micro grants by KET4CleanProduction in the first two rounds.
Few days left for applying for a Micro Grant: step on it!
Our mission in supporting SMEs to tackle their clean production challenges is ongoing. The current (3rd) cut-off date for the evaluation of further proposals for a micro grant is 31st of January 2019.Don't miss it!
How European SMEs perceive Key Enabling Technologies and their impact? To what extend do SMEs integrate KETs in their production? Why some countries perform better than others do in KET diffusion and adoption? A recent study of KET4CleanProduction enlightens us on the above and offers recommendations.

Reducing climate change on crops
"Fyteko" is a young company developing and producing advanced plant biostimulants. Thanks to the collaboration with Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant, the company launched new products which allow plants to better withstand climate change. It also managed to expand the product to an industrial scale and conduct numerous field test worlwide.
From advanced manufacturing and materials, to nanotechnology and nano / micro electronics, and from industrial biotechnology to photonics, KET TCs and SMEs show the way! Here are a few examples of succesful cooperation:
